A typical day at Fell Kin
No two days are the same at Fell Kin!

However, we do have a general frame for the day:
10.00 – 10.30: Arrive and settle in
We are well serviced by public transport, with bus stops and a train station in the village. There are also drop off points outside both the Pavilion and the Village Hall, though parking in the village has restrictions. We have a family WhatsApp community, which can be used to co-ordinate travel.
We have settling in time from 10.00, which allows everybody to arrive, greet friends and land in the space.
10.30 – 10.45: Opening meeting and plans for the day
Participation in meetings is optional, though everyone in the community is welcome to join. Meetings provide an opportunity to check in with others and contribute to decisions.
Activities agreed in the opening meeting will be added to the board. We also use this time to review community agreements and make any agreements about items the young people have brought in from home.
10.45 – 12.00: Access to Fell Kin resources and the village
Throughout the day people can take part in agreed activities, choose to be entirely independent in what they do and/or instigate their own activities.
Fell Kin facilitators support the community to follow their interests by providing requested resources where possible, offering a weekly budget for the groups to manage and ensuring there is always a designated quiet area and opportunities to go outside for sensory breaks.
12.00 – 13.00: Lunch
Young people at Fell Kin are free to eat whenever feels right for them. For most people this happens around midday.
13.00 – 14.30: Access to Fell Kin resources and the village
The afternoon provides further opportunities to create, plan, investigate, read, rest, experiment, bake, make music, explore or play.
14.30 – 14.45: Reflection time and closing meeting
Activities proposed in the closing meeting help to plan for the following week. This can include anything suggested by members of the community, either young people or facilitators and volunteers.
14.45 – 15:00: End of day
